We are seeking a qualified External Sales Executive that will be based in Johannesburg to help us to grow the market by selling the products and services that supports our customers in the fields of utility, industry and building technology around the world. Our ideal Sales Executive has a strong understanding of the sales process, and excels at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. WE ARE seeking a quick learner with strong listening and negotiating skills, THE CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO EFFORTLESSLY showcase our offerings in a compelling AND KNOWLEDGEABLE way and be confident  with giving presentations, and attending networking events.  it’s essential that our executive be approachable and professional. His or her efforts will help us extend our reach and impact within Sub Saharan Africa.

Objectives of this Role

  • Represent GF Africa, with a comprehensive understanding of our offerings to both End User, Fabricators and Resellers within the Mining, Chemical and Water Treatment Industries.
  • See 3-5 Clients per day or 12-16 per week to keep current relationships intact and manage requests to submit for official quotations and costings to Cape Town Head Office when needed.
  • Research and develop New Client relationships in various sectors and establish new relationships.
  • Meet weekly, monthly, and annual sales activity quotas within your responsible area.  
  • Negotiate/close deals at sales level and handle complaints or objections.
  • Adjust sales techniques based on interactions and results in the field.
  • Perform incisive and insightful market and competitive research within main operating sectors.
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate client presentations on products and services.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Qualify, develop, and maintain thorough company and product knowledge, research consumer needs, and identify how our solutions can meet them.
  • Generate and grow existing relationships, maintaining an accurate, detailed client database, and developing an active, repeat customer base.
  • Make cold calls or perform warm outreach though networking or social platforms, putting outside-the-box thinking to work to develop new and unique sales tactics and relationships.
  • Create frequent and up to date reviews and reports with sales data.
  • Meet weekly and monthly targets and collaborate with team members to achieve optimal results.
  • Utilize company tools to ensure a standard process during all sales stages.
  • Affectively Self Train using our GF Online Campus platform on a regular basis.
  • Submit Call Reports Weekly (Reports must Incl. Meeting discussions, Product suggestions, Follow up dates, Quote Requests and Feedback on Submitted Quotes) Meetings requiring urgent Quotes, must be communicated same day to prepare.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of +GF+ Product Range or equivalent Brand, consisting of Pipes, Fittings, Manual & Actuated valves, measurement & control and welding equipment.
  • Client Knowledge in the Mining, Water, Chemical & Energy Sector based in South Africa & Neighbouring Countries.
  • Proven experience as a Sales Executive within desired industry of at least 5 years.
  • Able to work within a Team.
  • Proficiency in English & Afrikaans. French would be a bonus.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Fast learner and passion for sales.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Own a reliable vehicle.

We are looking for a new full-time colleague in our Sales Division to be located in South Africa, Johannesburg, to be close to our existing customers and to expand our customer network. You will be responsible for the sales and marketing of GF product Range Sold into the Mining, Chemical, Water Treatment, Energy & General Industrial Sectors.
