We are excited to announce the global market launch of the new Butterfly Valve 565 LugStyle. With this valve we complete the portfolio of plastic butterfly valves in a short installation length and high p/T performances.
Product Strategy
The new Butterfly Valve 565, in both Lug and Wafer-Style, is our answer to metal butterfly valves in (plastic) piping systems that are used in industries and applications where we are active in or aim to be active in. The strategy with this new product is clear and simple: We want to gain more market share in the butterfly valve market, which is currently dominated by metal valves. One example from an easy swap to the plastic lug style in the US (Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium):
Plastic butterfly valves have already proven their advantages against metal valves thanks to:
▪ Higher resistance against corrosion and condensation
▪ Lighter weight
▪ Lower impact on climate change confirmed by an EPD/LCA
▪ Direct position feedback from the shaft of the valve
Additionally, the 565 can convince with matching the metal strengths:
▪ Same high P/T performance
▪ Same installation length
▪ Same or more approvals
The Type 565 is the perfect solution for non-chemical (water) applications. The key target segments/applications are water and water treatment applications like those that we have in aqua parks, swimming pools, aquariums, desalination plants, cooling, shipbuilding, or industrial and municipal wastewater. Product Range & Codes
With its standard interface, the Butterfly Valve 565 can be upgraded with various actuators. The optional LED position feedback allows the current position of the valve to be centrally recorded and checked at any time.
As for the codes, the 3 digits in the middle will change based on the valve configuration, as follow:
▪ the 199565XXX is Wafer-Style
▪ the 199575XXX is Lug-Style in ISO/metric
▪ the 199576XXX is Lug-Style in ANSI/ASTM
Production Plant
The production plant for the Butterfly Valve 565 is Seewis (Grisons, Switzerland).
All 565 Butterfly Valves will come with laser marked labels (see picture on the left). Every Valve is 100 % tested before leaving the production plant (see picture on the right).

The 565 obtained many different approvals for the 565 range: ACS, ABS, BV, DNV, EAC, EPD, FDA, KTW-BWGL, LR, NSF, PZH, RINA, WRAS, SIL
Availability
The following items are released for sales in SAP with immediate effect:
▪ DN100-200 (4-8”) in all variations (Manual, Pneumatic, Electric, incl. Smart
version)
Additional dimensions are expected to be released for sales according to the below schedule:
▪ DN50-80 (2-3”) in all variations → April
▪ DN250-300 (10-12”) in all variations → June
